We are a website designated for sharing wallpapers, graphic works, photos, and more. We are here to support upcoming artists and photographers with their work. It also our mission to make Design Gala the best website for getting new wallpapers and other works. If you like what you see, please contact us to let us know!

Founded in 2022, we are actively improving our website to make it better. In 2024, we plan to expand this website further with video and audio works, as well as new ways to interact with the website.

Fun Facts

The original name of Design Gala was Anika's Wallpapers.
Design Gala started as a project to be everything about Anika, including her social media and graphic design works.
Design Gala began development in the Spring of 2021 for another, similar website project.
If you see a "Classic" section on a wallpaper page, that means the wallpaper was made in the Spring of 2021.
Tiger Stripes and Sway wallpaper series' were remastered just three days before the website was announced.
Shortly after the initial announcement of the website on July 29, 2022, the website was tweaked significantly with new banners and text on every page. The original banners displayed in the announcement were two different shades of green, opposed to two different shades of purple that were launched.
- Banners would later be removed entirely in March 2023 in part of the website's redesign.
Design Gala was named as a play on words from Met Gala, an annual event in America for fashion.
Design Gala almost got cancelled at the end of June where Anika went on vacation.
For the public announcement of Design Gala, a reveal video was planned and thought out weeks prior. However, none of the plans worked out and it was resorted to just a Twitter thread instead.
When Design Gala launched, only team members could upload works.

Answer: On mobile, press and hold on the wallpaper, and you should see a button to download it. On desktop, right-click on the image and you should see a button to download it.

Question: Why does Design Gala use Google Sites?

Answer: We wanted something easy, simple, and ad-free. Google Sites offers all of those. For a website meant to display graphic design works, Google Sites was the best option for us, unlike Wix or building the site from scratch.

Question: How often will new wallpapers come onto the website?

Answer: You can expect new wallpapers biweekly.

Question: How can I join Design Gala?

Answer: You can join by submitting an application! Submit an application.

Question: How can I upload my own works to Design Gala?

Answer: Now you can! Visit this page.

Question: Why are there fewer tablet-made wallpapers?

Answer: We understand most of our userbase care for mobile wallpapers, so we prioritize mobile over tablet.

Question: Do I need to create brand new works to contribute to Design Gala?

Answer: Not at all! We encourage you to bring in some of your existing work, and we want our website to be a way to promote your work.
